The inside country is the most aged region of Portugal, with common problems that demands the construction of knowledge that responds to specific regional contexts, to achieve effective social and territorial cohesion. This project analyzes the territorialization of ageing, that is, how the territories and its human and material resources respond to aging and problematic and current and future needs of individuals. This research has been developed in the IPCB and PI of Portalegre, Guarda and Bragança, valuing the joint synergies for the construction of knowledge in this area. Goals: To know the aging processes of rural and urban communities, making a multidimensional characterization and evaluation of social aspects, functional status and available resources for the elderly; prepare proposals for innovative intervention models with practical guidance for health and social policies, to establish regionally (capable of replication in other contexts), and shares of social participation of older people.
