Member of NOVA Health since its origin. Auditor of National Defense (2009). She coordinates the PhD on International Relations and three post graduations, within the issues of Political Demography, Public Policies, Intelligence, Globalization and Security. As a researcher her main research subjects are Demography, Foresight and Strategic Planning, Migration, Ageing and Health.

Responsible Researcher and member of national and international projects, most of them on Ageing population, Health, Social Conditions, Prospective Studies. Member of the Board of IPRI – Portuguese Institute of International Relations, where she coordinates the Research Group of ‘Strategic Foresight and Planning’. Author, co-author or editor of 23 books, and hundred and a half articles and book chapters.
